Hair FAQs

Do I have to do the big chop to go natural?

No, you do not. If you are uncomfortable with a shorter hairstyle, then you can slowly transition and when you are ready you can cut the remainder of chemical processed ends off.

How often should I get my ends trimmed?

Healthy hair should have a steady appointment to be trimmed at half an inch every six to eight weeks. Healthy hair will have no damage or breakage if regular trimming and conditioning occur. It is fine to wait longer than eight weeks for a trim, but it is important to watch for split ends.

Hydration Vs. Moisture

Hydration - Hydration is the process of replacing water in the body. When the body is adequately hydrated, your hair and skin will benefit as well. Hydration causes the hair to have sheen or shine and improves the manageability of your hair strand

Moisture - Moisture refers to the presence of water in something. In hair care, moisturizers prevent your hair from losing water. A variety of products contain moisturizing ingredients. You can use products labeled as moisturizers to help lock in moisture. Your product needs to include water, and your hair should be hydrated to get the best results.

What is a silk press?

A silk press gives natural hair the look and feel that it has been relaxed and helps to prolong the time in between relaxers. A traditional pressing comb or, a tourmaline ceramic flat iron is used, to ensure that your hair will not revert as quickly. A heat protectant is applied as well as a silkening serum that prevents heat damage, leaving the hair soft, weightless with luster, shine and body!

How long does a silk press typically last?

One of the most frequently asked questions about the Silk Press is how long it usually lasts. The longevity depends. It normally lasts for two weeks. It can sometimes last much longer as long as the hair hasn’t been wet down. If the hair comes into any contact with moisture from water, humidity or sweat, it will begin to convert back to its natural curl.

FAQs

Lash FAQs

What lash services do you provide?

We offer lash extensions: Classic - 1 extension to 1 natural lash, Hybrid - a combination of the Classic and Volume, and Volume- 2 to 4 light-weight fan extension placed on one natural lash.

How long does it take to apply lashes?

Application of extensions takes about, 1 ½- 2 ½ hours, depending on the lash style you want.

Do you do mink lashes?

We choose not to use mink lashes because they lose curl after a while, like any natural hair fiber. We do, however, use lightweight synthetics that mimic mink lashes.

What kind of lash customization can I get?

We use a three-step process. You can choose the color, length, and curl type. We mix at least three lengths to give you a natural look and we only use lashes with lengths of 8mm-14mm.

How long do lash extensions last?

With proper at home care, the adhesive could last 6 to 8 weeks. However, you do lose 3 to 5 natural lashes every day, so after 3 weeks, most clients come in for a refill to keep their lashes looking full. There are many factors that could affect the retention of your extensions, including improper home care, not cleaning the lash line, oily eyelids, the use of oil-based products on or around the lash line, medications, allergies, thyroid or hormonal issues, lifestyle, seasonal changes, and so much more. If you do run into any issues with your retention, please give us a call so we can help you.

How often do I need a refill?

It’s totally natural to shed 3 to 5 lashes daily per eye. We recommend scheduling a refill appointment every 2 to 3 weeks to maintain desired fullness. If you wait more than 3.5 weeks to get a fill, a full set will be required.

How do I remove my lashes?

We recommend scheduling an appointment to have them removed professionally to avoid injuring yourself or pulling out your lashes. Another option is to let them grow off naturally.

Will lash extensions damage my natural lashes?

We’re licensed, trained and certified in lash artistry, so we know how to select and apply eyelash extensions, based on your length and strength of your natural lash.

Can I put mascara on my lash extensions?

We don’t recommend using mascara on your extensions. Mascara will shorten the lifespan of your lashes and will clump your lashes.

How do I care for my lashes?

Clean and brush your lashes daily to prevent eye irritation, infection, blepharitis or other eye health issues. We recommend not getting your lashes wet for the first 12 to 24 hours.

After showering, softly pat dry your lashes, do not rub. Use only water-based makeup & makeup remover on your extensions. Absolutely, no oils! Avoid rubbing your eyes, picking or pulling your lash extensions to prevent damage to your natural lashes.

Don’t perm or tint lashes after lashes have been applied. Don’t use regular lash curlers to curl extensions, as this could break off the extensions and damage your natural lash.
